Vascular Surgery (Integrated) Has 22% More Applicants Than Four Years Ago
On the day programs opened ERAS 2027 applications, 238 people had applied to vascular surgery, against 195 at the same point of ERAS 2023.

The DO share of applicants fell 4 points
In ERAS 2026, 263 people applied to vascular surgery. The pool was 51% MD, 8.7% DO and 40.3% international graduates. 20.5% applied to no other specialty, a count that treats required preliminary and transitional years as another specialty.

By type in ERAS 2026: MDs 56, DOs 42, international graduates 27.5. The middle half of applicants sent between 17 and 69. The overall median is the fifth highest of 23 specialties covered here.
On the programs’ side, the median vascular surgery program received 58 applications in ERAS 2026, against 86 in ERAS 2023.

In ERAS 2027, 98% of vascular surgery applicants used gold signals, and the median signaling applicant used 3 gold and 12 silver.
