hands-on
  • 18-19Two rotators in 2018/19 described the only level-1 trauma center in Vermont with broad regional coverage, a strong anatomy curriculum, small class size, a mentorship model, and a reasonable call schedule. Rotators noted volume as lower than larger centers and frequent double-scrubbing. Onc was identified as the weakest subspecialty.
  • 17-18Two rotators in 2017/18 described a small academic program (3 residents per year) with daily attending-led conferences, a demanding anatomy rotation as a PGY2, and a trauma setup that allows PGY2s strong operative exposure. Peds and onc were noted as weaknesses by one reviewer. Program culture and fit were emphasized during selection.
  • 15-16Rotator in 2015/16 described down-to-earth residents and strong training despite a small class size (3 per year), with a well-regarded anatomy course emphasized throughout residency.
  • 14-15Rotator in 2014/15 described a broad regional catchment as the sole area hospital, competent residents, well-regarded facilities, and solid fellowship placement.

Paraphrased from rotator survey responses. Names and identifying details removed.
