U Tennessee - Chattanooga
  • 18-19Rotator in 2018/19 described strong trauma volume every year, a demanding home-call schedule equating to long weekly shifts and weekend coverage, and a well-trained community-surgeon skill set at graduation. No tumor rotation, and some hand time was spent with plastic surgery faculty. Chattanooga was noted as affordable with outdoor amenities.
  • 14-15Two rotators in 2014/15 described a blue-collar, family-friendly program of 3 per year with strong trauma, sports, and foot-and-ankle exposure, a Socratic-style morning didactic model, and consistently high OITE performance and boards pass rates. A trauma fellow was present but did not appear to limit resident cases. There was no oncology rotation (handled via an outside course).
