Rotator reports3 reports · paraphrased
hands-on
  • 21-22Rotator in 2021/22 described a 4-week trauma rotation with 5a-5p days, 6 days per week, and optional 24-hour shifts. Residents were engaged and helped set up rotators for letters. Hands-on trauma opportunities were plentiful, including placing IMNs as an MS4 under supervision.
  • 18-19Rotator in 2018/19 described roughly 7 co-rotators assigned to varied services with flexibility to move between them. Residents were friendly and tight-knit, case volume was very high with 18 months of trauma, and interns reached the OR early depending on service. No interview was offered during the rotation.
  • 16-17Rotator in 2016/17 described a resident-centered program with strong operative experience where chiefs largely ran rooms with juniors and trauma exposure occurred every year. Trauma was based at the university hospital while most other rotations were with private groups. Night float covered the university and pediatric hospitals. Didactics were primarily resident-run.

Paraphrased from rotator survey responses. Names and identifying details removed.
