hands-on
  • 20-21Rotator in 2020/21 described friendly residents, reasonable hours typically ending by 3-5pm, daily AM didactics, supportive leadership, and Level 1 trauma. Limitations included no oncology, limited spine (improving), and a department letter issued close to the ERAS deadline.
  • 18-19Rotator in 2018/19 described a friendly small program with plentiful OR, seniors walking juniors through cases, and engaged approachable faculty. Trauma volume was split with Summa. Interview was offered during the rotation.
  • 17-18Rotator in 2017/18 described a small community program of 3 per year under Cleveland Clinic, with a flexible day-to-day OR schedule set by the chiefs rather than fixed subspecialty rotations (aside from peds and hand). Daily didactics, good lifestyle, and young returning faculty were noted.

Paraphrased from rotator survey responses. Names and identifying details removed.
