Rotator reports3 reports · paraphrased
hands-onpresentation req.exam req.
  • 25-26Rotators described a very hands-on rotation with independent patient workups and direct staffing with senior residents and attendings. Weekly subspecialty assignments aligned with selection-committee faculty; rotators reported neuro and peds weeks align with program leadership. Substantial OR involvement on peds, plastics, and neuro. Interviews not guaranteed, but the culture is described as collegial and teaching-focused. End-of-rotation exam and 10-minute case presentation. Wet lab and simulator access provided.
  • 24-25Rotators reported substantial OR hands-on experience, with rotators functioning near a late PGY-1/early PGY-2 level (seeing patients, performing exams, presenting). Full week with the PD and meaningful time with selection-committee faculty. Short presentation and final exam are now required. Call optional but commonly taken.
  • 23-24Rotators described a hands-on rotation with supportive faculty, balanced OR and clinic time, and the ability to choose subspecialty rotations (most rotators still work with the PD through comp/neuro). Final exam on the last day and a low-key mini grand rounds presentation.

Paraphrased from rotator survey responses. Names and identifying details removed.
