Rotator reports4 reports · paraphrased
Wills (ED Rotation)
hands-onexam req.
  • 25-26Rotators reported a hands-on ED rotation where residents grant substantial autonomy to comfortable rotators. Limited direct attending time. Open structure: on clinic days students are directed to a floor and find out the attending that morning; on OR days, OR selection is from the day's OR board. Meeting with PD/APD recommended. End-of-rotation test reported as harder than expected. LOR continuity described as difficult given the rotation structure.
  • 24-25Rotators described the ED as a fun learning environment. Rotators recommended meeting with the PD and medical student advisor during the rotation. Grand rounds attendance recommended. 3 weeks in the Wills ER and 1 week of subspecialty clinics. Interviews not guaranteed. End-of-rotation test reportedly does not count toward grade.
  • 22-23Rotators reported strong pathology exposure with opportunities to write notes and tech up ER patients, attend morning lectures, and hang out with residents. Short hours (8-3). Faculty and residents were described as supportive. Test at rotation end described as approachable and based on an assigned book. Organization and logistics described as variable for away students.
Wills (Pathology)
mostly shadowLOR-friendlyexam req.
  • 22-23Rotators reported substantial 1:1 time with pathology faculty (who serve on the interview committee). Learning-dense rotation. Trade-offs noted: substantial workload, challenging end-of-rotation test, and limited clinical exposure.

Paraphrased from rotator survey responses. Names and identifying details removed.
