Rotator reports3 reports · paraphrased

  • 25-26Rotators reported 2 weeks at the VA and 2 weeks at Grady. Away rotators did not have to signal. No call. Extensive hands-on resident-facing experience, with 1-2 OR days per week. Rotators reported opportunities for OR steps including IOL insertion in some cataract cases and oculoplastics. Subspecialty clinic time available on request (helpful for LORs). Two oral presentations (one per site). An inpatient ophthalmology rotation option was positively highlighted.
  • 24-25Rotators reported a split between VA and Grady with approximately one OR day per week.
  • 23-24Rotators reported initial paperwork/logistics were somewhat chaotic due to a coordinator transition. Faculty and residents were described as teaching-focused. OR time (~1 day/week at Grady, half-days at the VA) with case presentations at both locations. Mostly shadowing, with residents often inviting students to examine patients during staffing.

Paraphrased from rotator survey responses. Names and identifying details removed.
